The symmetrically designed BP17³ has numerous balanced and unbalanced input and output connections. So one of the two XLR-output pairs can be selectively configured to a variable or a fixed level e.g. to drive an external headphone amplifier. The analog circuits are fully discrete designed (Class A); the digital sections are separately supplied with power and guided via separate ground paths.
