High-resolution, DSD-capable network player with superior sound performance for music playback from local network storages (NAS), connected USB storage devices, Internet streaming services such as TIDAL, Qobuz and Spotify, as well as Internet-streamed radio programs. The Aries G1 is equipped with its own Femto Clock for USB and digital outputs, two internal Pure-Power (TM) linear power supplies and a 4-inch True Color Retina display. The device is multi-room capable and can be operated by various software controllers. AURALiC's Lightning DS app (for iOS, from iPad 2nd generation) serves as the primary interface and controller. The G1 is compatible with AirPlay and SongCast and can act as a Roon Ready endpoint. The setup and configuration changes are very easy to do with a newly added, universally applicable web interface.
Inputs include Tri-Band WiFi (802.11 b/g/n/ac), Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0. On the output side, the Streamer offers coaxial and optical S/PDIF connectors, an AES/EBU interface, and a USB interface realized with Auralic's patented ActiveUSB™ technology. Via USB, PCM formats from 44.1 to 384kHz at 16, 24 and 32bit resolution as well as DSD formats up to DSD 512 are supplied to compatible DA converters. The other digital outputs are limited to max. 24bit/192 kHz. The TESLA G2 platform allows extremely fast data processing; data storage is performed on a large 2GB system memory, an 8GB data memory and a 1GB cache.
